Chamber of Commerce and Rochelle Township High School Partner to Host Member Tailgate Event

Date: 9/9/2009

First-ever chamber appreciation night and membership drive

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ROCHELLE, IL…The Rochelle Area Chamber of Commerce and Business Development is partnering with Rochelle Township High School (RTHS) to sponsor the first-ever Chamber Member Appreciation Tailgate Party to be held at the RTHS Commons, 1401 Flagg Road, on Friday, September 18, 2009. The free event is open to all current Chamber members, their families, and management staff. In an effort to increase the number of Chamber members, anyone bringing a prospective new member will both receive two free tickets to the varsity football game against the rival Batavia Bulldogs, compliments of RTHS. The Tailgate will be held from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. before the start of the game.

The Tailgate Party includes dinner, yard game fun, prizes, and networking opportunities for local business. At 5:45 p.m. there will be a special performance by the RTHS Drum Line. The food is being provided by the Sara Lee Corporation, Del Monte Foods, and Sully’s Hot Off the Grill.

The new Chamber is proud of the participation from industries, local merchants, and restaurants. “Because of the generosity of Sara Lee and Del Monte Foods, this fun-filled event is a way for the Chamber to show how much we value each of our members and to stress how important every industry, individual, commercial, retail, and restaurant business is to the success of our local economy”, said Peggy Friday, Executive Director. Those attending will have a chance to win one of four ‘stay-cation’ packages, designed for men, women, couples, and families to “vacation” in Rochelle. “Our retailers and restaurants have donated a number of gifts, showcasing much of what Rochelle has to offer. We want to encourage residents to shop and dine locally and our merchants have given abundantly to help us achieve that goal”, Friday added.
