Rochelle Chamber accepting applications for Leadership Program
ROCHELLE, IL…The Rochelle Area Chamber of Commerce & Business Development is accepting applications from any Chamber member interested in participating in its 2010 Leadership Academy educational program. Enrollment space is limited.
“The Education Committee led by Rochelle Township High School Superintendent Jamie Craven has done an exceptional job in organizing the Class of 2010. I am a graduate of the Academy and even now value the relationships with my classmates and the unique perspective of Rochelle that the Chamber provides,” said Peggy Friday, Chamber Director.
Classes will begin on January 28, 2010 with a Kickoff Luncheon. The group meets once a month on the following dates – February 18, March 18, April 22, May 20, and June 17. A graduation ceremony will be held at the conclusion of the Academy. Participants are sponsored by their employers at a cost of $225 and are excused from work on class day each month. Presenters will include representatives from Kishwaukee College, City Hall, Ogle County, Rochelle Community Hospital, Rochelle Township High School, Rochelle Elementary and Middle Schools, GREDCO, and select group of individuals and industries.
A goal of the Chamber in hosting the annual Leadership Academy is to motivate and equip present and future leaders in the Greater Rochelle Area. Classes are designed to provide interaction with community leaders, on-site visits, and classroom style experiences. Additional topics include Rochelle’s history, economic development, crime and law enforcement, leadership training, healthcare, volunteer, cultural, and civic issues.
