“Issues & Eggs” breakfast to serve up SBA and stimulus solutions for Rochelle area small businesses August 19

SBA and Bank experts to speak at Rochelle Area Chamber of Commerce and Business Development event next Wednesday

ROCHELLE, ILL. – August 14, 2009 – Having weathered the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, many small businesses have been encouraged by recent reports that the US economy may finally be poised for a turnaround.p>

That’s why the Rochelle Area chamber of Commerce & Business Development will focus its latest “Issues & Eggs” breakfast on the borrowing opportunities now available to small business through the Small Business Administration, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and America’s Recovery Capital Loan Program.

“Issues & Eggs” will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Rochelle VFW, 318 4th Ave. The program will run from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. Breakfast is $5. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Stephanie Whitmer at swhitmer@hub-city.net or by calling 815-562-4189 by Monday, August 17.

Presenting at the event will be John Phelps, Director of the Rockford Local Development Corporation and Robert King, Associated Bank Vice President and Senior Business Development Officer, and Daniel O’Koniewski, Manager of Associated Bank’s DeKalb Branch on Sycamore Road.

Media coverage of the Issues and Eggs Breakfast is welcome.

A brief presentation will be made by John Phelps of the Rockford Local Development Corporation (RLDC), a not-for-profit, certified development company by the Small Business Administration. Representatives will also be on hand from Castle Bank, Stillman Bank, First National Bank and Trust of Rochelle, Lincoln State Bank, and Holcomb State Bank. /p>
